Magazines such as Newsweek, New York, and Forbes ran articles on the trashing of Western values in academia as "minority influence" groups seek to purge our society of the repressive, racist, sexist views of a culture historically dominated by straight, white males. Madonna, MTV's answer to Catherine the Great, has gotten into the act by demanding that in order to liberate our society, all straight males should have a "male homosexual tongue in their mouth for at least two minutes." I am grateful
to be so instructed by such a sage and sanguine advisor. Earlier this year I attended an international convention where others also graciously added to my obviously incomplete education: The vast majority of world problems have been and are being caused by the values and dominance of straight white males. And since I happen to be all of those things, why don't I admit it and seek years of repentance in a homosexual therapy group run by black and Asian females high in the Himalayas? My mind boggles at the possibilities of the time that would be available to me. I would be progressively freed to diligently engage in the hate-laced historical revision required to purge the last vestiges of the "fascist" values of Jehovah, Mohammed, Plato, Aquinas, Luther, and all the reformers, Shakespeare, and all his sexist cronies, Michelangelo, Mozart, Bach, the Pasteurs, well in short, any and all the rest of the straight, white, male-dominated repressors of freedom.

This topic is so loaded it forces us to go for the jugular. Square one: Western culture, like every other black, yellow, and brown culture, has been flagrantly guilty of racism and sexism, but let's put it in perspective. Ladies, let's start with you. Do you want to try living in the historical Asian cultures or African or Islamic cultures where you were pure chattel, reproducers, or low-level work flunkies? Why don't some of our man-hating, Western culture - hating female emancipators go into some of these cultures today and help liberate them? They know why, and we know why: Because the whole concept of "rights," and the cherishing of womanhood, is historically both the property and privilege offered only by Western culture.

This concept of freedom was not because the culture was white or male but rather because of one thing: Jesus Christ and His teachings. Anybody who has traveled first-hand into the non-European cultures as I have and has more than a sixth-grade history, culture, and philosophy education knows this as a fact. But who cares about "facts"; we're dealing with perceived "rights" here.

Square two: What is really at issue here is the sovereignty of God and the identity crisis one goes through when one loses sight of His sovereignty. God made you black, brown, yellow, or white, and He made you male or female. To find fault with someone's sex or skin color is to find fault with their Creator. Lose consciousness of your Creator, and you lose the security of your identity and self-respect, and it really is that simple! Man only convolutes reality so that he doesn't have to submit to it.

God made me male, white, and straight and I do not ever intend to apologize for Him or justify God's action. As for cultural sin, all cultures are depraved and need the redemption of Christ, not white redemption or European redemption or male redemption. As the new oppressors approach, a response is growing within me: "It's called the Sovereignty of God; deal with it," and that's the bottom line.
