Tony Cummings spoke to praise and worship DJ and record producer ANDY HUNTER.

AH: I do feel that the scene has changed. A lot of the clubs have closed because I think they are getting too expensive, so a lot of parties have gone back to being underground which is great. I believe there is still the interest out there. I think as a whole the music industry has changed and labels are struggling too, so it's not just the dance scene.
TC: You've done quite a bit of touring in the US which is supposed to be much more conservative in its attitudes towards dance-orientated music. How have you been received?
AH: I have been received very well, the clubs out there are great and there is certainly an excitement about dance music. In the Church, mainly the response has been positive.
TC: One of the remixes of "Go" has been a major hit in the dance clubs. Does that mean that you are getting engagements in these clubs?
AH: That was the goal, but unfortunately it didn't happen. At the
moment the doors in the UK are hard to open, but I am praying that it
will change.
TC: How much time do you spend on
the road and how much time do you spend back in Swansea?
AH: I am gone around two weekends a month and some months it will be three weekends. Because it's just me and my records I can travel light and fly to America for just a weekend! I have set a rule that I don't go longer than three weekends because I have a family.
TC: Do you have any plans yet for a follow up to 'Exodus'?
AH: I have started writing for the next album, which should be out this year. I was in the studio in December and January, writing and putting down ideas.
TC: Any other plans for the future?
AH: My goals are to get to play in the UK clubs more, get the second
album out and carry on with the things that I believe God is saying to
me.
I came to Jesus through dance music and I feel sad that here we don't have real Christian dances like in America. I would love to be able to full on dance for the lord in a fully Christian forum. I feel sad that we people here who love Jesus and worsip him through dance have nowhere to go. I just dance for the glory of God wherever I am it is a gift that he gave me. Andy Hunter's music was such a welcome breath of fresh air when I first discovered it.x
