Tony Cummings reports on rapper NF's latest single and soon-to-be-released album
The chart-topping rapper from Michigan, NF, bares his soul on his new single "The Search". The song is the title track from NF's forthcoming album. Clocking in at four minutes, 11 seconds and 777 words, "The Search" gives the rapper's millions of followers plenty to unpack, as NF lays bare his psyche, revealing some of the darer corners he's found himself in and mapping out the ambitious quest that lies ahead. Its lyrics go: "I've been searchin'/What does that mean, Nate?/I've been learning/Grabbin' my keepsakes, leavin' my burdens/Well, I brought a few with me, I'm not perfect/Lookin' at the view like, this concerns me/. . . Cold world out there, kids, grab your coats/Been a minute, I know, now I'm back to roam/Lookin' for the antidote to crack the code."
The video for the single was co-directed by Patrick Tohill and NF. The album 'The Search' will be Nathan Feuerstein's fourth full-length album. The Christian rapper, singer and songwriter has come a long, long way since he released his first EP in 2014. His debut full-length album 'Perception' staggered the US music industry in 2017, topping Billboard's Rap Albums and Tip R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts with the Christian rapper being called "the ultimate underdog story of 2017" chronicled in New York Times and Forbes magazine with the latter noting, "NF's success speaks to what can be done these days outside of the traditional system."
Now certified Platinum in the US, 'Perception has earned more than two million album equivalent units worldwide while cumulative streams have surpassed 3.5 billion. Singles like "Let You Down" - three times Platinum and a number one pop radio hit in the US, and certified Platinum or higher in seven additional countries - "Lie" and "If You Want Love" further expanded NF's fanbase, paving the way for his sold-out, 87-date 2018 Perception World tour of North America and Europe.
NF will kick off the 29-date The Search Tour of the US on 12th September in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and conclude in San Jose, California on 26th October.
