Robyn: "Sean Hill is awesome. Again it was God guiding my path. I met him through a mutual person who suggested I go out to Atlanta and record an album with him. I had never met Sean Hill in my life but I took a chance; I knew I was supposed to be there so I went out there and recorded my album with him. It was fantastic. He's a very talented producer."
Tony: Is the EP 'Smile' doing well?
Robyn: "Yes, I'm getting a lot of good response from it. When people hear it everyone is really excited. It's doing really well."
Tony: Prior to that you released some singles, didn't you?
Robyn: "Yes, I did. My first single was called 'Spirit Moves'. I wanted to do praise and worship music; at the time I wanted my focus to be inside the Church, doing praise and worship. But as I evolved as an artist I realised that I really liked listening to pop music too. So that's why my EP evolved into a pop album. It's been great. I love coming out with 'Spirit Moves' and the other songs that followed evolving into my EP 'Smile', which is my pop album. I can't tell you how blessed I am with the results."
Tony: What about the plans for the future? Are you working on new songs and new ideas?
Robyn: "I'm always working; I'm always practising my craft, always performing and I'm always meeting new people. There is definitely a plan for a 10-song album in the future but I'm waiting for God to direct that move."
Tony: Stylistically, you're quite a difficult singer to classify.
Robyn: "If you know me as a person, if you ever met me, I'm very difficult to place in a box. I do like a lot of stuff. I like to say pop is the main genre. I love singing ballads because I have an amazing range as far as my voice goes. I like dance music. Who doesn't like dance music? So yes, as an artist, I'm going to put out what I am and hopefully people will love it."
Tony: What is your range?
Robyn: "I can go really low. . ."
Tony: So you can go three octaves, then?
Robyn: ". . .and very high."
Tony: Of every song that you have done so far, which is your absolute favourite?
Robyn: "I do love 'Nothing's Going To Stop My Smile' because of the
meaning behind it. There's a fiend out there and he wants to steal,
kill and destroy but nothing can stop your smile when you know you
have God with you."
