Mike: What were you trying to get across to people who hear your album?

Sara: It is hard to say because each listener hears something different, but the mission statement for our ministry is communicating that everyone has a purpose in the Kingdom. In a disposable society, God says there are no disposable people in his Kingdom. If a person has breath in their body, they have a next step with God. I hope the music demonstrates how real and everyday a relationship with Jesus really is.

Mike: Although you're signed to a label, your approach to music and ministry is very similar to independent artists. Why is that?

Sara: We have signed with a very unique label that is very concerned with my remaining an independent person who is accountable to God. Jeff Moseley, of INOTOF, has given us a very valuable gift by investing his time and energy in my husband Troy and me, while allowing us to be free to do the ministry that God has given us. He is a man of integrity and our partnership was all part of a greater plan.

Mike: Some people listening might think that your songs are quite negative. Do you ever get people asking you to write happy songs?

Sara: I like to write process songs about what happens between points A and B. There are a lot of Christian songs about point B (the happy song place), but how did you get there? I like to address that process. That's not negative to me, that's true.

Mike: It feels as though some of your songs really help people to face up to themselves because you're so honest. Isn't it a challenge to be so vulnerable in your songs?

Sara: I used to think the music was too personal, but God showed me that I was a human being having human experiences, and that there were thousands of other human beings having those same experiences. There is nothing new under the sun; there are just new ways of saying the same things.

Mike: Which song on the album is really connecting with people and why do you think that is?

Sara: The Word is connecting because it's getting played on the radio! Hopefully it is also connecting because it reminds people about the power in that awesome book (the Bible).
