Southern gospel's Anna Carter dies.
SOUTHERN GOSPEL singer Anna Carter died recently in the USA. Anna first began performing country on Texas radio with four part harmony group the Carter Quartet in 1935, when her family needed money for medial bills. Changing their name to the Chuck Wagon Gang and switching to gospel, the group became hugely popular and, thanks to regular infusions of new blood, continues to perform today.

I have enjoyed the four part harmony of the Chuck Wagon Gang over the years and I still do today. Anna's singing voice was distinctive - making her contribution to their performance a memorable one. The Chuck Wagon Gang's music is a source of inspiration. Anna will always be remembered.
