Sussex dance merchants Aorta disband, solo projects pending
AFTER ALMOST seven years together Sussex-based dance aggregation Aorta have decided to call it a day. The trio will play their last gig on Friday at the Rave In The Nave event at Ely Cathedral, alongside Four Kornerz and the Austin Francis Connection. Read a press release, "This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but we collectively feel that the time is right for us to go our separate ways and pursue new interests for a period. During our time together, two of us have gotten married, one of us relocated to New York, we played some mega gigs, released a record, and made a whole bunch of friends along the way. Si will be concentrating on his solo DJ'ing, building up the buzz which has been generating around him in the club scene. He is also working on material for a future release. BenniJ will be going solo under the name Galactus Jack. His debut single is available on the 'Rose Sessions Vol 1' compilation album, and his EP is due out winter '08. Andy has just moved back to the UK and has a couple of top secret projects on the horizon."

Gutted!! I'm a bit saddened by this news as I have been to a few gigs with these guys and loved every one. But hey, if they are doing solo stuff then thats bound to be good and I'll look forward to it. All the best guys!
