A FOUR CD box set of over 100 tracks 'Battleground Korea: Songs And Sounds of America's Forgotten War' has been released by Bear Family. The album features recordings from the 1950s including many from Christian artists such as Southern gospel artist Sunshine Boys Quartet, African American gospel group The Gospel Pilgrims, blues artist Cecil Grant and R&B singer Edna McGriff. A review in Mojo magazine read, "The emotional gamut veers between upbeat patriotism, 'Dear John' letters, battlefield desperation and grief, with obscurities like Jackie Doll & His Pickled Peppers." CR
