A hundred UK gospel singers record album at Abbey Road.
THE MOST prestigious album in the history of British gospel music is
set for release in October by EMI Virgin. 'The Best Gospel Album In
The World...Ever!' will be advertised on mainstream UK TV beginning in
October. The project brings together members of five choirs, Urban
Voices (based in Manchester), The Roy Johnson Singers (Leeds), The
Liverpool Philharmonic Gospel Choir, The Peoples' Christian Fellowship
Choir (London) and The One Voice Community Choir (Preston) under the
name 100 Voices. The
album was produced by music business veteran Gordon Lorenz with the
choir directed by Tyndale Thomas and David Daniel at Abbey Road
Studios. Said Lorenz, "It is believed this is the first time that
massed gospel choirs have been brought together for such a recording.
From Manchester, Leeds, Preston, Liverpool and London the singers
arrived, during a hot June weekend, at the famous EMI, Abbey Road
Studios in London, to sing the songs that actually do make the whole
world happy, but more importantly, songs that never fail to inspire,
enlighten, comfort and give hope to us all - just as they did all
those many years ago."
that is a very wonderful action taken by that musician because it will ensure unionism among different denominations in the world so, more power to the musician`s elbow.
