U2's Bono and The Message Bible translator Eugene Peterson discuss Psalms
ROCK STAR Bono and Christian apologist and translator of The Message Bible paraphrase, Eugene Peterson, are featured in a film produced by Fuller Theological Seminary, The Psalms. The film can be viewed free on YouTube. In the film Bono admits he is often "suspicious" of Christians because there is a "lack of realism." Bono contrasts this attitude with the writers of the songs who are "vulnerable to God" and "honest". At one point the rock star stated, "I would love it if this conversation would inspire people who were writing these beautiful gospel songs [to] write a song about their bad marriage [or] about how they're pissed off at the government. Because that's what God wants from you. The truth. That truthfulness will blow things apart."
