Mr E's Chris Haines releases 'But God' album
THE ONE-TIME bass player of Southampton's gone-but-not-forgotten band
Mr E, Chris Haines,
has released a solo album. 'But God' is released independently. Wrote
Chris about the album's title, "Man has a habit of getting himself
into deep trouble. But God has an even deeper inclination to do good
to us. We've messed up, big time. But God stands watching like a
Father, rich in mercy, abounding in steadfast love, ready to receive
with open arms all who return to him. We deserve to be cast away from
his presence forever. We didn't want him, we haven't thanked him, nor
glorified him. But God is forever our Rescuer, our Redeemer, our
Reconciler, our Restorer, our Reassurance, our Righteousness, our
Rest, our Refreshment and our Resurrection Power."
Hi guys! I have recently discovered Chris Haines' 'But God' CD and I absolutely love it! I'd certainly like more people to hear it and so am putting comments in where appropriate.
I am fairly regularly handed/sent new worship albums and, although I play each one I receive (don't always make it through the whole CD) - this one, 'But God' by Chris Haines, was totally different.
Here we have both a musician and a talented songwriter. The guitar work is refreshingly good, and the pace of the album is a thorough joy, and it is theologically and pastorally sophisticated.
If you are looking for a refreshing new talent then you should definitely, definitely listen to this album.
