New compilations seek to document CCM, modern worship and hymnody

IN AUGUST EMI CMG will be releasing three compilations which endeavour to showcase the most significant songs from various eras of Christian music. 'Songs That Changed The Church: CCM' will feature such pop and rock songs as Amy Grant's "Thy Word", dc Talk's "Jesus Freak" and MercyMe's "I Can Only Imagine". 'Songs That Changed The Church: Worship' will document the modern worship movement with such songs as "Here I Am To Worship", "In Christ Alone" and "El Shaddai"; 'Songs That Changed The Church: Hymns' showcases such hymns as "Amazing Grace", "Be Thou My Vision" and "The Old Rugged Cross".
