The 'Djarimirri (Child Of The Rainbow)' album by Gurrumul released
SKINNYFISH have released on CD and vinyl the fifth and final album by Aboriginal singer/songwriter Gurrumul, who died in July last year. A review of 'Djarimirri (Child Of The Rainbow)' in Mojo magazine described the project as using "string and brass arrangements worked out by Gurrumul and his collaborator, Michael Hohnen, to make a stronger art-rock case for the singer. The title track, previously heard on his debut, is transformed; the work put into newer songs suggests the next step could have been a full-blown Aborigine symphony."
