Sir Cliff Richard announces intention to give up recording.

64 YEAR OLD pop singer Sir Cliff Richard told the national press recently that he has decided to stop all recording. Said Sir Cliff, "I just don't have the time to waste making a record that no one will play. I will be playing concerts until the day I die because I love the atmosphere - but I'll never make another record."

Sir Cliff has released 146 singles and 67 albums. He is the only act to have had a number one in six different decades. Christine Whitehead, of the International Cliff Richard Movement, said, "I hope we can change his mind because we want to hear his records." CR

Ok I've been an avid fan ince 1964 (Iwas 13!!) and hardly missed a concert-The Event was incredible! For 66 he's amazing and so fit on stage! I met him in a Glasgow restaurant in 2002 after his concert and he was soooo nice, and I chatted to him for 20 minutes and he gave me his autograph. He's given so much to British entertainment for 50 years it's a shame he doesn't get more airplay! So keep on rockin' Cliff - can't wait to see you at the SECC on 2nd December! (He's so popular they've had to put on a second night)

I like listening to Magic Radio during the day at my work because of the type of music, and am very dissappointed that Cliff Richard songs are never played at all on it.

Later reports have revealed that he was misquoted. I think he gets frustrated that he makes songs that don't get heard because\radio doesn't play him. I can't work out why the old gold stations don't play the classics even if stations like radio two don't like the new stuff. Having said that, his last single What Car got playlisted on radio 2!

I play him on Rimmerama pretty regularly because I think he's a legend who deserves coverage!

He's goit a Christmas single in the can and ready for release so nhe can't have totally given up!
