Story about Christian mainstream artists published in US magazine
A FRONT-PAGE story on the impact of Christian artists into the mainstream was published in the 28th October issue of American trade magazine Billboard. In it singer Stacie Orrico is quoted as saying, "The events of the last couple of years have made people more open to spiritual things and trying to find answers." The article also highlighted MercyMe (and their American number one pop hit "I Can Only Imagine' and name checked acts like Natalie Grant, Relient K and Steven Curtis Chapman. Tracy Austin of top 40 radio station KRBE of Houston said in the article, "You can have a Christian artist and still have a great pop song. Songs mean different things to different people. It may be a song about God, but somebody might relate to it as a love song."
