Tribute album released remembering pioneering rap giant D-Boy Rodgriguez.

ONE OF the pioneers of Christian music rapper D-Boy Rodriguez is honoured on a new tribute album. 'The Fallen Soldier Compilation: A Tribute To D-Boy' features various Groovesound Records artists including Lingo, Heata, Nate G and others. D-Boy released two groundbreaking albums 'Plantin' A Seed' and 'The Lyrical Strength Of One Street Poet' before being gunned down in the streets of Dallas, Texas in an unsolved drive-by shooting. Said Groovesound's CEO Lingo, "I thought it was about time somebody pay some respect to D-Boy. The truth is, if it was not for D-Boy Rodriguez holy hip-hop as a whole would not be where it is today. Ask anyone in the gospel music business around his time, he is a pioneer that truly changed the game."

He was one of the pioneers of Christian rap and way ahead of his time. He set the standard for Christ centered lyrics. We lost a great soldier in the Kingdom but, he is sitting with the King.

D-Boy was the reason I got into Christian Rap. I was introduced to his music by my cousin. I was thirteen. I am now thirty-two and I still to this day I roll through my town with the radio blasting The Lyrical Strength Of One Street Poet. When I seen the tribute cd My eyes lit up. I jammed out to it on the way home spitting rhyme getting my wife and little girl hooked.

When I first read about D-Boy I was doing some research on Holy Hip Hop. During my wilderness experience I learned a whole lot about holy hip hop and what it has done in my life. I just recently finished my life story and I dedicated it to D-Boy and if you want me to send it to you in an attachment then I will because I have a vision of what it can be but the hardest thing that i had to do is find out what it is in the real world. ...HOLLA BACK!!!
