VETERAN British CCM artist Adrian Snell was recently catapulted into
national media prominence when the June 24 Express ran an article on
him because Princess Diana was a Snell fan. The fact was discovered
when Prince Charles invited DJ Paul Gambaccini to catalogue Diana's
collection. Included in the albums from Elton John, George Michael,
etc Gambaccini discovered a number of Snell albums. The Princess
became familiar with Snell's music when she heard him perform a
charity concert in 1991. Her favourite Snell song was "Feed The Hungry
Heart" and the Sunday Times, focussing on Diana's work with the
starving leprosy and AIDS sufferers, published some of the lyrics of
Snell's songs written for him by Phil Thomson. Said Snell, "I feel
very honoured that my music was in Diana's collection and on a deeper
level I have always understood music to be the language of the heart.
It is wonderful to know that my music found its way into her heart and
lifted her at times."
