Three American sisters release album, take a stand on sexual purity.

NEW AMERICAN girl group BarlowGirl are about to release their debut album for Fervent Records. The phrase "Barlow girl" was first popularised by a song by Superchic[k] who in turn had been inspired by Rebecca, Alyssa and Lauren Barlow who they met at a festival and who had taken up a strong stance on sexual purity and modesty. The "Barlow girls" phenomenon has even inspired a website (www.barlowgirl.net) for girls who wish to pursue the sisters' ideals. The self-titled BarlowGirl album, produced by Otto Price (dc Talk, Out Of Eden) and Jeromy Deibler (of the band FFH) is released in the US in February, 2004.

The sisters grew up in Elgin, Illinois, and got their start as a backup band for their father, Vince, a children's music minister at Willow Creek Community Church (the second largest church in America). After honing their skills together, the girls caught the attention of industry execs at the annual Seminar In The Rockies at Estes Park in Colorado. CR
