'70s-style country gospel on latest album by Live Issue

NORTHERN IRELAND's leading country gospel group Live Issue have released a new album, 'Every Road'. Said Live Issue's Colin Elliott, "'Every Road' is our attempt to record a country gospel album in the style of the records we grew up with in the 1970s. The variety of styles give respectful nods to Johnny Cash, Don Williams, George Hamilton IV and the Statler Brothers. There is also a hint of Texas swing in there as we are big fans of a Nashville band of session musicians called The Time Jumpers."

Guest vocalist on the track "Letter From God" is Laura Dowey. Said Elliott, "This song was originally made famous by our good friend Teea Goans. Teea was our guest when we hosted the Midnight Jamboree in Nashville last year and we backed her for this song. We really wanted to record it when we got home but felt it needed to be sung by a female. I discovered Laura Dowey when I heard her singing as she stood behind me in church one Sunday morning. We have been encouraging her over the last year or so and she is now really starting to get a lot of recognition in Northern Ireland."
