Record label Word Entertainment have released chairman Malcolm Mimms after record sales dramatically dropped.
AMERICAN record label Word Entertainment have addressed their reported
alarming drop in sales by appointing a new director. Industry veteran
Jim Van Hook, has signed a multiyear contract as chairman of Word
Entertainment to replace Malcolm Mimms, whom Word let go after worship
music company Integrity Music severed its longtime relationship with
US Word to partner with Provident Distribution. Part of Van Hook's
challenge as new chairman will be to slow down what seems to be a
downward spiral at the label. According to an article in The
Tennessean, the loss of Integrity Music took Word's market share from
about 28 per cent of Christian music sales in the USA to 15 per cent.
