Royal Priesthood's Femi Iloyi picks up MTV film award

RAPPER turned filmmaker Femi Iloyi of London hip-hop team Royal Priesthood has picked up a prize from an MTV contest. The contest which ran in partnership with the Home Office's anti-knife crime campaign, It Doesn't Have To Happen, invited people to submit a multimedia project which displayed a positive message about knife crime. The film clip submitted by Femi was based on Broken Silence about the realities of street life and being a young person. Show us What You're Made Of was a national competition launched last October across MTV's UK channels. Four winners were chosen from a shortlist of 20 entries with the victors announced at a special MTV event in London on 17th February. Akash Lockmun/Nilesh Bell Gorsia, Lead By Example and Jamie were the other winners of the night. Each will receive £1,000 of materials to go towards developing their creative ambitions and have their work showcased on MTV. All entries can be viewed at http://showus.mtv.co.uk. CR
