Album of hymns by Michael W Smith released digitally

AS A RESULT of a tie up between CCM star Michael W Smith and the US retail chain Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Smith will be releasing the album 'Hymns'. It will be available from selected digital retails and marks the first time that the singer/pianist has recorded an album of traditional hymns. The project contains such oldies as "How Great Thou Art", "The Old Rugged Cross" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and was produced by Kyle Lee and Jim Daneker. Said Smith, "I first heard many of these hymns when I attended First Baptist Church in Kenova, West Virginia with my Mom, Dad and sister Kimberly. The message of the songs combined with the timeless music helped build the foundation of my Christian beliefs."
