Kirk Franklin causes radio controversy
AMERICAN Christian radio has been polarized over the issue of whether
the Kirk Franklin
single "Lean On Me" is suitable for play on Christian radio. The
inclusion on the song, from Franklin's best selling 'The Nu Nation
Project', of secular vocalists Mary J Blige, Bono and R Kelly has been
cited for the relative lack of Christian radio support. Said Lisa
Landis of WJTL-FM in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, "We are not playing
'Lean On Me' because of the artists involved. A lot of our listeners
feel uncomfortable hearing them on our station."
