Singer/songwriter Garth Hewitt tours Uganda

BRITISH singer/songwriter Garth Hewitt spent 14 days in June lending his support to the Church Of Uganda's decade of evangelism. The tour, his first since 1982, included 21 indoor and outdoor concerts and was featured regularly on both television and radio. Garth said, "In some ways the awful despair and violence is now replaced by a very different picture as it is obviously a much more peaceful country but the cloud of Aids hangs over it. The need to go on rebuilding is paramount as there is much poverty."
