Kirk Franklin locked in legal battle with God's Property

GOSPEL ARTIST Kirk Franklin has filed a motion with the Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss a lawsuit brought against him by Linda Searight, founder and director of the youth choir God's Property. On the same day Vicki Mack Lataillade and her husband Claude, CEOs of GospoCentric and B-Rite Music, have filed a countersuit against Searight.

Said Franklin's attorney Peter Haviland, "Kirk is just another performer and record producer who really has no role in the lawsuit. He feels misused by Searight for having used his name to bring more attention to her complaint." No decision on the motion has been made at the time of going to press. CR
