THE JULY issue of Record Collector magazine features an article, 10 Of The Best: Gospel, written by Tony Cummings. The article highlights recordings celebrated in the Cross Rhythms radio series Spirit Of Rock & Soul, namely tracks by The Staple Singers, Andrae Crouch, Five Blind Boys, Mahalia Jackson, Gospel Classics, The Bessemer Melody Boys, Lavine Hudson, Blind Willie Johnson and Kirk Franklin. The one artist not showcased on SORAS - his debut album only being released in 2022 - is Britain's Samm Henshaw. CR
