Mississippi Fred McDowell's first recordings compiled on 2CD set
THE SINGER/guitarist Mississippi Fred McDowell, considered one of the greatest country blues men of all time, has his first recordings, made by folk researcher Alan Lomax, compiled in a single album for the first time. 'Downhome Blues 1959' features 23 tracks from McDowell plus recordings from other bluesmen including Forrest City Joe and Boy Blue. The 2CD package is released on JSP Records.
