Brian Doerksen set to release power contemplation on God's holiness
A NEW album by influential Canadian worship leader and songwriter Brian Doerksen, 'Holy God', is being released by Integrity Music in November. The project is very much a contemplation on God's holiness. Said Doerksen, "When we think of a 'Holy God', we would think he would keep his distance from us and our world, polluted with sin and impurities as it is. I think one of the most amazing things about God is that this God who is perfect and holy, draws near to us to forgive, redeem, even to the point of sending his only Son, the 'nail scarred Lamb' to pay the price for our rebellion. But he doesn't stop there! His goal is not just our forgiveness, so we can become his loyal subjects and servants."

I just listened to a podcast of Brian being interviewed by Tim Hughes and Al Gordon. I completely agree with him, that God wants to come closer to us no matter what we do. I remember the prodigal son and his older brother. Which one received God’s mercy? Was it the brother who extolled his own virtues, claiming he had never transgressed any of the commandments? Or was it the one who claimed he was not even worthy to be one of the lowest paid servants? God’s mercy reached to the one who felt helpless and hopeless without God. I believe this album is going to be hit.
