London hip-hop crew GreenJade link up with comic illustrators SAM119.

COMIC illustrators Simon James and Steve Beckett, also known as SAM119, have begun working with British hip-hop pioneers GreenJade to develop a comic-style video for the forthcoming single release of the group's "Gunz Down". Said Simon James, "GreenJade saw SAM119 at the Grapevine celebration in the summer and really like it, so they asked if we'd like to try and collaborate with them on making a comic book style animated video for their next single. We love what they do so we thought it was a chance that was too good to miss. I think the combination of the comic book visuals and their powerful music is one that can't fail to get people's attention. The video is in pre-production at the moment, we've almost completed all the static visuals and they will be stitched together by an animator, it will feel a little like one of the Anime type cartoons you see, that kind of quite simple animation. But also quite 'Gorrillaz' in its look. That said though, there's nothing out there at the moment that looks anything like SAM119, and so the whole project is going to look pretty unique."
