Beth Neilsen Chapman records album of acapella hymns sung in Latin.

AFTER TWO successful albums, 'Look' and 'Deeper Still' on Sanctuary Records, classical singer Beth Neilson Chapman has released an album of acapella hymns sung in Latin. The album 'Hymns' was released by Sanctuary in October. Beth is planning a world hymns project but has decided to make the Latin project available first. She said, "I was raised in a Catholic family and these beautiful melodies mostly sung in Latin were the 'hit parade' for myself and all those born before Vatican II. Some of these melodies are very old, some new with ancient text. I've tried to be conscious of choosing lyrics that speak of devotion and faith whose meanings do not seek to separate or condemn any other voice of devotion." CR
