SIGNIFICANT progress has been made by United Christian Broadcasters in their long-stated aim to become Britain's first national, terrestrial ("ordinary radio") broadcaster. At the end of November broadcasts of UCB's flagship inspirational station UCB Europe will begin broadcasting during the day and throughout Britain and also into much of Europe on medium wave 549 MHz. This launch will" be followed shortly by evening/night-time medium wave broadcasts on 1593 MHz. UCB Europe's existing evening broadcasts on 1386 MHz ceased on 14th September. Said UCB's managing director Gareth Littler, "Getting these frequencies from Russia is another significant step forward in our long term strategy to get Christian radio to the whole of Britain 24 hours a day. The signals are weak at the moment, gradually getting stronger as we head towards Christmas." Questioned about UCB Cross Rhythms, Gareth responded, "I'd urge Cross Rhythms readers to pray for a specific opportunity for UCB Cross Rhythms to get on medium wave in the near future."
