Al Green releases new album

VETERAN R&B hitmaker and church minister Al Green has joined again with legendary Memphis producer Willie Mitchell for a new album 'I Can't Stop', released by Blue Note Records in November. For the new set, the only rule that Mitchell stipulated was that this should not be a gospel album. Said Mitchell, "I had some things in my head and he had things in his head. We didn't have a label at the time. My idea was just to cut some good songs and make him sing well. And it came out exactly the way I planned it. There was no doubt that we'd get a label."

Another Green album scheduled for 2004 release is a four-CD EMI package of his classics for Hi Records, 'Al Green: The Immortal Soul Of Al Green'. CR
