Christian Music Writers Forum birthed in London.
THE TRADE association the British Academy Of Composers & Songwriters have announced the start of a new initiative for Christian music writers called the Christian Music Writers Forum (CMWF). Said the chairman of BACS, David Ferguson, "Christian music has a rich and inspiring history which has had an immense influence on the development of all musical forms, its contribution has been invaluable. The Academy would like to ensure that writers of Christian music are fully represented. Through this forum we hope to tackle some of the major issues that affect Christian music writers, to encourage its growth and stability."
The CMWF was launched in November 2003 with the selection of a steering group consisting of respected songwriters, worship leaders and specialist advisors within Christian music. The steering group reflects the various facets that encompass Christian music from worship music right across the spectrum to R&B. This group will be responsible for planning the various CMWF initiatives.
