Speculation over future owners of Word Records.
THE FUTURE ownership of Word Records, the world's biggest gospel company, is still unannounced as Cross Rhythms goes to press. The companies currently tipped to be the frontrunners in their bids for Word, currently owned by ABC/CapCities Television, are American Christian book and Bible giant Thomas Nelson Publishers and secular and religious publisher Harper Collins.
Another company which at one time were thought to be the favourites to
purchase Word are Nashville secular music company Liberty Records who
told Cross Rhythms that "things were still in negotiation."
