Fans helping fund feature length DVD for Daughters Of Davis
ACOUSTIC soul duo Daughters Of Davis are set to make a DVD of
life on the road. Said manager Andy Baker, "It could be said that
queuing for an open audition for the X-factor shows dedication for
aspiring musicians hoping for a lucky break. Daughters Of Davis however demonstrate a
level of commitment and determination that is rarely found in today's
something-for-nothing culture. In April 2011, the sisters from
Winchester left their homes and jobs to follow their dreams by
purchasing a campervan from eBay. 15 months and several repairs later,
the van is still running and Fern and Adrienne Davis are playing their
unique blend of soul/folk to enchanted audiences most nights of the
week. Last week, the girls launched a campaign through
crowdfunder.co.uk to help raise finance to document their travels and
compile a feature-length DVD. Within eight days, fans and supporters
have pledged over one thousand pounds in return for red lipstick,
guitar lessons and signed merchandise. The girls have an uncanny knack
for finding themselves in the most bizarre circumstances."
