Soul gospel man R J Helton shocks many by admitting he is gay
BLUE-EYED soul gospel man R J Helton, who came to the public's attention through American Idol and whose album 'Real Life' was released by B-Rite in 2004, has caused a stir in the American Christian music community by announcing he is gay. Appearing on OutQ In The Morning, a popular Lesbian & Gay breakfast radio show, he stated, ".the industry has jaded me. I can have a faith but can't be who I want to be. So a lot of it was just personal things I needed to overcome and just be proud of who I was. Just because I'm gay does not mean I can't love God."

(Sigh)... and TD Jakes allowed him to perform and teach children aged 5-19 about worship and praise and being a 'bible believing' christian alongside Kirk Franklin at the 2004 Megafest?! Oh... my... goodness! Just because he had a 'gospel album' on the market at the time (2004)- Real Life - where 1/2 of the songs on the album are all about promiscuious relationships and 'getting it on at some odd time of the night'!!!! What did we do watch American 'Idol' (Duh), hear the word 'Christian' used in his sentence and think ooooo oppertunity. We've completely lost our minds and our witness to this guy!!!??? God have mercy on us for we are now accountable for the damage that has been done!!!
