Bryn Haworth, Adrian Snell, Steve Turner interviewed in new radio series
Stoke-on-Trent-based Cross Rhythms Radio are set to launch a groundbreaking radio series which will chronicle the vital role that the British Church scene had in the development of contemporary Christian music. Remembering The '70s is a six programme series with each episode featuring an interview with a pivotal figure in the music's development alongside a selection of musical tracks from the era. Interviewed by the series presenter Mike Rimmer are Bryn Haworth, Adrian Snell, Steve Turner, Stewart Henderson, Graham Kendrick and After The Fire.
The first Remembering The '70s programme will be broadcast at 7pm on Saturday 12th November and will be repeated at 7pm on Sunday 13th November. The whole series of six programmes will be repeated one each day in Christmas week leading up to 24th December.
Said Cross Rhythms CEO Jonathan Bellamy, "This pioneering series documents an important story in Church history and one which is largely unknown, even to those who enjoy the current forms of Christian music. Many people believe that pop and rock music which proclaimed the Lordship of Christ as its central message was an American invention. This series shows that from the early days of Britain's church coffee bars through to the development of modern worship forms British musicians had a key part to play." Remembering The '70s is sponsored by Louis Hemmings of Almost Angel Investments.
