Ex-Selah singer Nicol Sponberg enjoys hit singles from second solo album
AMERICAN singer Nicol Sponberg has become a major success in the US. Curb Records recently re-released Sponberg's second album 'Resurrection' which has produced four Billboard chart singles. 'Resurrection' was produced by Mark Heimermann in 2004 for Fun Attic Productions, Resurrection features the title-cut, which was a number one single on both R&R and CRW's Inspirational charts with Nicol's cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" being another major hit. The Curb reissue of the album features a remix song and bonus track. Said Sponberg, "It's ironic that the title of the record fits what is happening now, as the album gets a second chance to reach listeners. My sincere hope is that 'Resurrection' - the title track especially - will be an encouraging reminder that we are never beyond hope; there is a God who is able to take even the suffering in our lives, and as only he can, turn it into something he can use for good."
Sponberg, along with Todd Smith and Allan Hall, co-founded the
multi-Dove Award winning group Selah. In 2005, Selah's recordings
featuring Sponberg reached a combined sales total of more than 1
million albums, while the group's 2004 release, 'Hiding Place', was
recently certified Gold. Since her departure from Selah, Sponberg has
continued to appear at churches and events across the USA.
