US band Skillet due to play at Cardiff event
AS PART of a European tour, Memphis rock band Skillet are due to play Ignite Christmas at Glenwood Centre, Cardiff on 6th December. The event, organised by Big Ideas, is the last Ignite event of 2003. Ignite is a six point declaration that commits young people to a life of discipleship. Almost 2,500 young people have signed the declaration and there are 1,000 youth leaders in the network. Ignite Director Gary Smith said, "We are committed to bringing the best Christian music to this generation and Skillet are a band with great music and a heart for ministry. Exactly the sort of people we want to partner with."
In November EMI Christian Music Group will be releasing a new Skillet album, 'Collide'. Departing from the keyboard-driven sounds of earlier releases, 'Collide' delves into grittier, edgier guitar rhythms.
