Dublin songsmith Ronan Johnston records solo album 'Songs Of Consolation
DUBLIN-based singer and producer Ronan Johnston, who recently released an album with long-established church group Emmaus, has just released his new solo album 'Songs Of Consolation'. Said Johnston, "Maybe half the album was written in late 2004, early 2005, and the rest is made of tracks I've written for a while and simply wanted to get my own versions down. Some I've recorded with Emmaus (like 'Take Heart') and others like 'Self Control' and 'Overnight Mechanic' are much older, dating back to 'Boys Will Be Boys' times and 'Wall To Wall' in the distant past. However, the thing that binds them all together is that they are all songs which are deeply personal to me and of which I've always longed to do 'definitive' versions."
