Lead guitarist for Anthrax has proclaimed Jesus as the Messiah
A MEMBER of one of the most notorious heavy thrash metal bands, Anthrax, is now a believer. Daniel Spitz. Anthrax's former lead guitarist, is back with a new song as a Messianic Jew. After leaving Anthrax in 1995 Spitz turned to the quieter world of watch-making, studying in Switzerland and opening stores in New York and Florida. Having continued to observe his Jewish faith in the band he began to discuss Christianity with Christian relatives and friends and after attending a Bible study eventually proclaimed Jesus as the Messiah. He told the Charisma News Service, "From then on the Holy Spirit began to work on me." Now working with Anthrax's former lead singer Joey BellaDonna - who is not a Christian -on new material Spitz says, "I'm ready to do whatever his call is on me. I'm just a vessel being used for God's purpose."
