Long awaited new album by Skillet released in August

AFTER a three year wait the new studio album by Skillet, 'Awake', will be released in the US on 25th August. The album was produced by Howard Benson, (Daughtry, My Chemical Romance). Said singer/bassist and primary songwriter John Cooper, "This album is even more immediate than 'Comatose', but there's also a noticeable maturity. Some of the songs are complex, others are just really intense rockers and overall there's a real sense that we're opening a new chapter. There are definitely some classic rock elements on the record, some very melodic moments with orchestration and piano, along with a lot of today's heavier rock influences as well." The first single from the project, "Hero", is already climbing Christian and rock radio charts in the States.
