Award-winning Alison Krauss releases first solo album in 18 years
THE COUNTRY and bluegrass singer, violinist and 27-time Grammy Award winner Alison Krauss spoke in the April edition of Uncut magazine about her new album 'Windy City quote, produced by Buddy Cannon, and issued on Capitol Records. "I didn't do a solo record for a long time, I stopped doing them. I didn't even know it had been that long (18 years) until someone said. I was like, 'Really?' I have a real confidence in what Buddy thinks, and if he thinks it's good then I believe him. . . My albums all represent certain periods of my life, a span of time."

Almost everyone, possibly including Alison herself, say it's been 18 years since her last solo album, but they forget the early 2007 album "A Hundred Miles Or More" which was in fact a solo album, although several of the tracks were previously recorded on little-known movie soundtracks and other artists' projects which the vast majority of Alison Krauss fans probably were not aware of, so those songs were new to most people. This CD definitely counts!!!
