Marie Osmond set to release album through Word
AMERICAN Christian company Word Distribution have courted controversy with the announcement that they are to release an album by one-time pop hitmaker and committed Mormon, Marie Osmond. Speaking at the International Christian Retail show in Denver in July, Ms Osmond told a large crowd of retailers how she had met with key Christian retailers explaining the inspiration for the project. Osmond said she felt "moved by the Spirit" to record the CD, getting on her knees in prayer before ultimately realising it was "what I needed to do". The singer continued she was a long time listener of Word music artists but had previously felt that the "barrier with me as a Mormon" prevented the possibility of a recording.

I am Mormom and Jesus is my Savior. That makes me Christian - discussion over. Evangelicals can't own the word and definition of what a Christian is. This argument is so old and tired. How about we focus on fighting the evils of the world rather than fighting each other? We have much in common but so many are blinded by their ignorance and a twisted definition of a simple concept. You are a Christian if you believe Jesus Christ is your Savior.
