Delirious?, Steve, Yfriday, thebandwithnoname to play Ipswich event in June.
BRITAIN'S most popular Christian rock band Delirious? will headline Xpression05, a four hour worship event at Portman Road football stadium, Ipswich, on June 26th 2005. Yfriday, thebandwithnoname, and Steve will also be leading times of worship with Andy Hawthorne of the Message Trust in Manchester hosting the evening. "A recent survey revealed that more than half of Britain's 18 to 30-year-olds have not attended a religious service outside the traditional rites of 'hatch, match and dispatch' since childhood, and worryingly more than one in 10 have never been to church," says Gavin Stone, Youth Adviser for the Diocese of St Edmundsbury & Ipswich. "We are addressing this by enabling young people to express and experience worship to God within the context of their own culture." In 2004, Delirious? toured the UK, North America and Europe but Xpression05 promises to be one of the band's biggest British audiences. Delirious? will be flying in from Europe especially for the event and for guitarist Stuart Garrard it's a chance to play in his home town stadium for the first time.
