Prayer and Worship: 2. Releasing Your Spirit
When I pray I find one thing that really focuses me and helps me to be more sensitive to the Father is to play my guitar and sing a few words of my prayers. It releases me into more spirit led prayer. But I know that some of you are screaming, that really doesn’t help me I’m not musically talented. This won’t be ground breaking news for those who know me but I’m not really either, but God just does something with me when I play the guitar in prayer times.

Yet its not just when I play guitar, there may be a song that’s caught my spirit on a certain album that I can listen to. This is a way of directing your prayers; why not make the lyrics of some of your favourite worship songs your prayers. Most songs have some sort of petition, repentance or vow of love in for God. There is no reason why you can’t make them your own prayer songs.

Some examples of this can be found in Psalm 145, 51 and 45
