Prayer and Intercession: 7. You and Intercession

In Isaiah 6: 8 it says:

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then I said, Here I am, send me.”

God is looking for a willing heart, a heart full of compassion, a heart that is after His heart. In Acts 13: 22 it says:

“I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do my will.”

God is looking for people who will spend time with Him, who are after His heart. Maybe you think that you aren’t an intercessor and that’s just not your calling, but it says in Revelation 1: 6 that we have been made kings and priests for our God. A priest was someone who interceded for the people, so we all have a call to interceed for others and lift them up in prayer even if God is calling us as a preacher or a housewife. Intercession comes out of an intimate relationship with God. Ask Him what He wants you to pray into this week.
