Sometimes we can get caught up in the idea that everything we face and every hindrance that comes against us is spiritual opposition, that the devil is “having a go at me” BE CAREFUL! Not every trial we face is a product of spiritual opposition, in fact the majority of trials are either caused by our own disobedience or are what God uses to build our character, turning them for good. Do not fall into the trap of thinking the devil has any sort of hold on your life or can do anything that you don’t allow Him too. He is fighting a loosing battle, we need only stand firm to overcome!
But spiritual opposition does exist and we can read about it very clearly in Daniel 10: 10–21. At a time where Daniel prays continually, desperately and unfailingly; where he fasts and refuses to give in until he receives an answer –the heavens seem like brass! Sound familiar? Something very interesting happens next when an angel comes to Daniel to comfort and speak God’s word to him in answer. But it is what the angel says first that is most interesting, he says he has been fighting in the spiritual realm where a territorial spirit had kept him reaching Daniel. Therefore there are times when spiritual opposition can block up the heavenlies as Daniel 10 shows.
Therefore consider yourself and consider the spiritual realm when you pray, there may sometimes but NOT always be something that is hindering your prayers!
