Based in Devon, but students in Birmingham, 180° Ben Wattis and Ben Stirling have crafted some rootsy acoustic tunes which will appeal to you if you've got into Bebo Norman, Caedmon's Call or Andrew Peterson. The duo's voices intertwine on the excellent "Wise Man" which is a subtle song about the impact of Christ on their lives. "Sometimes" has a brooding, more electric feel and is the most immediate song on the CD. The prayerful "Cry" is compelling and atmospheric but unfortunately the CD fades a little with the closing track, "Flame", which sadly doesn't really engage. There's enough here for me to wonder what they'd sound like across a whole album's worth!
