Late last year the pop rockers from Nashville released this, their fourth album, however, something was a little different as keyboardist Chris Stoddard had left the group rendering 33Miles a duo. Fans need not worry though, the remaining two band members - Jason Barton and Chris Lockwood - here produce another album of catchy, radio-friendly pop rock with God-focussed lyrics. Highlights are the bright and breezy opener, "What Grace Looks Like", the summery, keyboard-driven title track and a resplendent version of Steve Fee's "Arms That Hold The Universe". Unfortunately, over the course of the 10 tracks here there is little in the way of stylistic variety which is surprising as production duties on the album were split between ex-Watermark man Nathan Nockels and Ian Eskelin (Stellar Kart, Starfield). All in all though, 'Today' is an enjoyable if unadventurous album and, as a bonus, 33Miles' highly enjoyable Christmas project 'Believe' is included in the package.
